An Open Letter
To All Our Visitors Here At
He Is Able

We salute you in the Name of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and welcome you to He Is Able. Not just our website here, but we pray that you, too, can say, I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. II Timothy 1:12.

Whether this is your first or fiftieth visit with us, we thank you for the sacrifice of your time and pray that your investment is rewarded by a great return on the blessing you are to us. You are MORE SPECIAL TO US than you realize. You are sharing in dreams restored, through the Abundant Mercy and Amazing Grace of God.

Have you ever met anyone who said, "When I grow up, I want to be a failure"? Of course not. Each of us have dreams--those things we wish to do, more than anything else. Yet, instead of my focus being directed towards the necessary steps of accomplishing my goals, I allowed the pull of the world to sidetrack me. Without me taking notice, each dream slipped away, beyond my grasp. One day, reality hit and I saw my life for the mess it truly was. I was shipwrecked on the shore of self. You see, I had insisted on living life MY way, and MY way was NOT the RIGHT WAY.
 divider bar
The ONLY "RIGHT WAY" is God's Way. He is perfect in ALL His Ways--He knows it all, He sees it all, and at far greater distances than you and I could ever comprehend: He is from everlasting to everlasting.

As I recently told a beloved friend, that was when I could not pick up a phone and call anyone who would have been glad to hear from me. Not a single person in this world, and it was all my own doing! What a feeling: able to go about freely in this world, yet totally isolated--alienated from everyone I knew. I want you to fully understand the gravity of my condition: there was not ONE single solitary soul who would (or could) say a kind thing about me.
 divider bar
You want to talk about "pigpen experiences"? You don't have to be physically homeless, or in some man-made prison of steel bars and concrete to be in a pigpen, my friends. I thank God for my "pigpen experience"--and for the glorious day He allowed the scales to drop from my eyes--that I could see the real me--that I could "come to myself". It was the day Truth dawned on me.
 divider bar
"Glorious"? Yes, glorious, but oh so painful! It was the day Truth arrived, and the Truth can hurt like no lie ever could! Oh yes, the day I awakened to the true reality of the sad state I was in physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The day I recognized my TRUE condition, acknowledged how I got there and that I didn't want to be there any more. The day I admitted that I wanted to go home to my Father and sit at His table, once again. John 8:32 tells us, ...Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Didn't say it would be easy, but said it would make you free! Jesus had made me free--from from that which had so tightly bound me for so long! Free from my past to have an eternal future with HIM! Hallelujah! Praise Your Name, Jesus!

You see, the Truth was, I did want to be loved. I did want friends. I did want to be happy. I did want joy. I had been bound by lies, but was set FREE by The Truth: Jesus Christ. I did want to do something that counted for those around me. Not for the sake of fame or fortune, but to be of some value in this world.

So you see, when you visit "He Is Able", you are sharing in dreams not only restored, but fulfilled BEYOND measure. It is ALL through the Amazing Grace and Abundant Blessings of our Heavenly Father. As real as my "pigpen experience" was to me--His love, His forgiveness, His mercy has been even MORE real to me. I walk in the same world I used to, but NOW, OH WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
 divider bar
God loves us so much that He gave His Only Begotten Son to take on the debts of our sins. Jesus Christ completed the plan of salvation for us. Through mercy we could NEVER DESERVE, through Grace we could NEVER EARN, He offers it to anyone who will accept. And it is through that relationship that a surgery, beyond the scope of any human, is performed. Through salvation, we are made new creatures in Christ: Therefore if ANY man be in CHRIST, he is a NEW creature: old things are PASSED AWAY; behold, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW. II Corinthians 5:17. Glory to God!

And then, each day, He reminds us of that immeasurable, unfathomable love: each day He speaks to us. Oh yes He does. That's right, that's what I said: Each day we hear the VOICE of GOD. HE COMMUNICATES HIS LOVE TO US, every day THROUGH EACH OF YOU!
 divider bar
Perhaps you never realized it before, but when you take the time to reach out in loving kindness to offer a word of encouragement, that is God speaking through you. That is His voice. Humans do not have the capacity to create such love--only God can. The world tries to define love in many many ways, but there is ONLY ONE TRUE LOVE--the love of God. There is only one true definition of that love; it is found in the thirteenth chapter of I Corinthians. That is the love of God, and it heals, it encourages, it redeems, it restores, it magnifies Him.

Yes, God speaks to us, each day. We hear the voice of God through every one of you who take of your time to visit and encourage us. To write such things as:
  • "I have just finished reading 'My Cup Runneth Over'. I can't tell you how much that means to me. I had stopped working on my web page, stopped going to church, stopped socializing at all. I had pretty much given up hope that God could help me. But now...I see there is hope for me."
  • "I have been uplifted, encouraged and empowered! Sure did need it tonight!"
  • "What a blessing... what a feast!"
  • "Friend, it is an honor and a privilege to call you such..."
  • "I have terminal cancer. Your article, 'More Than We Can Bear?' gave me more strength than I have had in a long time. It restored my confidence in God. I hope you can know how much it meant to me."
  • "Just finished reading your testimony page, 'Out Of Sin's Darkness...'. I send you my love. You witnessed to me in the Dollar General store in Hendersonville, TN...I will always remember you."
  • "Yes, I am here again....and yes, I've been blessed. 'All The Wrong Strongholds' is a masterpiece of God's will and our living in His will."
  • "I praise the Lord for such a powerful place that Glorifies the Father."
  • "I was humbled by His presence in this place. Thank you for being a light in the darkness!"
  • "What a story. I am at a loss for words. I could not stop reading it. If only you could know what it has meant to my life!"
  • "I am so happy to know such a wonderful person as you, honest, caring, loving, and loved by God so much."
  • "I've never been so humbled in my life! God is moving in an awesome way and in power! To God be the glory! I'm left speechless!"
  • "Yours is an awesome site. You are doing the Lord's work here. May He bless you in all ways."
  • "'Dead Man Walking' has really opened my eyes. Please pray for me as I stop being an enabler for my son."
  • "Thank you. I was feeling like I didnt have a friend in the world. I had bookmarked your page and I don't know why but I went to your page. I've been going through a rough time; your articles reminded me that God is always there for me. Thank you Jesus!!"
  • "I just read your latest article called 'Adversity' and want you to know how much it has blessed me. May God continue to bless you and the ministry he has obviously given you on the WWW."
  • "God still leads! I was searching the web for the scripture that begins 'For Now We See Through A Glass, Darkly' and was directed to your site! Lovely, just lovely! Most needed and appreciated."
  • "Your site is beautiful to view, easy to navigate, well organized, and a blessing to all that visit. I particulary enjoyed reading some of the heart touching poetry, especially, 'Four Little Words'; Your will, Your way, reminded me so much of my Christian grandmother who often spoke those words."
  • "Please pray for me - I am weary."

These are but a tiny sampling of the love and encouragement we have received from those who visit He Is Able. Oh, if only I could tell you how much they each mean to us! Blessings heaped and heaped and heaped--truly the windows of Heaven have opened and poured down upon us. Not because we are deserving of it, oh no no no--if ever there was anyone who did not deserve the mercy of God, it was me. Yet, He WAS merciful to me. And it is through His Grace and His undying, merciful love, by way of each of you, that we truly are Rich Beyond Measure.

NONE of this is to brag or boast about us, or our site here at "He Is Able". No, no! We brag, we boast of the marvelous, magnificent difference God makes in a life. We brag about our Wonderful Redeemer--how He can change a heart; how He restores, renews, revives. We brag about His love that shows through those who serve Him--a love that spans all time and distance, a love that reaches beyond all socio-economic barriers. We brag about a Savior Who not only meets our needs, but is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). That's Who we brag about! It is through Him that you have so richly blessed us. And it is through Him, because of Him, that we are able to receive such marvelous blessings.

I never knew what the word "Friend" would come to mean to me. To be called a "friend"--even now I cannot describe it--the tears just flow and I am overwhelmed by love. If that sounds corny, it will just have to, 'cause it's the truth. I admit it, I was LYING when I used to say I didn't care. God's forgiveness for my sins showed me how much I do care, how much I want to love and be loved. I DO CARE and am not ashamed to say so. Let me tell you, to be addressed in loving kindness as "friend" fills my heart with joy unspeakable. We truly enjoy "meeting" each of you, basking in the love you extend through friendship and fellowship in Christ Jesus.
 divider bar
I can never adequately thank you--all I can do is to lift you before the Lord and ask Him to pour out His spirit upon You for the blessing you are to us. It seems so limited, but with all my heart, as truthfully and sincere as I have ever been in my life, I thank you. Thank you for the example of Christ's love you are to us. Thank you for the friend in Christ you are to us. Thank you for your time. Thank you for your encouragement. Thank you for letting us learn from you. Thank you for sharing with us. Thank you for the privilege of praying with you and for you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I magnify Your Name, Jesus! I adore You, my Faithful Savior.
How magnificent You are! All praise and honor and glory to You, Jesus.
