Who is your God? Let me tell you about mine:
He is EVER present, everywhere. His name alone, "I AM" is a statement of NOW. Just think: before time as we even know it existed, He is (not an error--"I AM" is present tense) I AM. Right now at this very moment, He is I AM. And for as long as time ever stands, far beyond what we as humans can comprehend, He is I AM. He is not to be spoken of in the past tense--He always IS. That's difficult for our finite minds to comprehend. And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name FOR EVER, and this is my memorial unto all generations. Exodus 3:13-15. Now let me explain something to you about Jesus, God's Only Begotten Son: JESUS DID NOT COME INTO BEING IN BETHLEHEM.
"What?" you ask.
Let me repeat that: JESUS DID NOT COME INTO BEING IN BETHLEHEM. Bethlehem marked the place where God presented Himself to mankind in human form, to live on this earth, through His Only Begotten Son, Jesus. And God said, Let US make man in OUR image... Genesis 1:26.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:1,2.
Oh, if folks could only grasp this! Jesus was not someone God created on the "spur of the moment". Jesus was not created to be a "spare tire", or "another solution". Jesus Christ, eternally existent, is the same yesterday, today and for ever! |

| ...I AM. |
Again, before time as we even know it existed, He is (not an error--"I AM" is present tense) I AM. Right at this very moment, He is I AM. He is not to be spoken of the past tense--He always IS. And here are two scriptures to confirm that for you:
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. John 8:42.
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, BEFORE Abraham was, I am. John 8:56-58. |

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8. |

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Psalms 46:1-3.
For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death. Psalm 48:14.
And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Lord: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints. For who in the heaven can be compared unto the Lord? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the Lord? God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. O Lord God of hosts, who is a strong Lord like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them. Psalms 89:5-9. |
|
Remember this? And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? Mark 4:35-41. God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Numbers 23:19.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2. |
