O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Psalm 8:9 |

How truly wonderful to be able to feel the peace that comes through the mere whisper of Your name. Whether it be through that whisper, or calling out in a moment of need, I know that to speak Your name is to be heard by You.

You are the joy of my heart, the peace of my mind, the compassion of my spirit.

You are the food of my table, the clothes on my back, my going out and coming in.

You are the added strength when there is none left in me.

You are my refuge in time of trouble. You are He Who speaks peace to the storms of life for me.

You are my shield, O Lord; my glory, and the One Who lifts up my head. You are the breath I breathe, the beat of my heart, the song of my voice, the thrill of my sight, the sound of rejoicing in my ears.

You are nourishment to my body and my soul--You are life to my existence.

I am mere human--I need You more than food, than water, than breath.

How wonderful it is to remember from whence You have brought me-- and all You have seen me through: the valleys and mountains, the dark shadows and hot desert places.

I have put my trust in You and I rejoice: I will ever shout for joy, because You defend me. I love Your name and am joyous in You.

Your words are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Your promises are never-failing, multiplied countless times in my life.

I remember when You healed me in my childhood. Through the years since then, You have remained, unchanged. You are still my Master Physician. How thrilling to experience Your steadfastness in my life. You have dealt bountifully with me!

Never once have You failed to hear my cry. Oh, the times I've failed You, Lord, but never once have You failed me. It is Your faithfulness to me that causes my tears to flow, in recognition of who I am and Who You Are-- knowing that still You love me. I could never be worthy of such love, but I accept it according to Your promises.

Ah, that I can go to my Heavenly Father, wrapped in Your robes of redemption! He won't see me as I was, but as I am through You. How can I ever tell you how much I love You? Lord, I long for the time when my inability to adequately thank You will be replaced with a perfection to praise You, endlessly.

You set my path aright, there is fullness of joy in Your presence.

How wonderful it is to know You truly are my ever-present help in time of need, my ever-present Friend, my Lord, my Master, my Redeemer.

I know that with the hope I have in You, Lord, I can be of good courage for You will strengthen my heart.

When I cried out to You from the depths of despair, from the mirey pit of sin, You heard my cry. You reached further down than I could reach up and lifted me out. You wrapped me in Your arms of love and forgave me-- Oh, I cannot describe my delight in You, Jesus! |

Lord, You are my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. You are my stronghold, Lord--there is none that can prevail against You.

My souls waits for You, Lord, for You are my help and my shield. My heart rejoices in You, for I trust in Your name.

You are holy and worthy to be praised. You are perfect in all Your Ways. There is none like unto You, my Lord and my Redeemer.

Even if there should be sorrow and weeping in my nights, Lord, You bring joy to my heart in the dawn, for Your mercies are made new each morning.

You are my light and my salvation, O Lord; whom shall I fear? You are the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I delight myself in You and Your promises, Lord God, for You have given me the desires of my heart. You have been exceedingly abundant to me.

You are my eternal rest, Lord, and the answer to the prayers I have prayed. Whether I see the fulfillment of all my prayers in my allotted time on this earth, I know they will be fulfilled in You, according to Your Perfect Will.

I do not fear my existence in this world, Lord, for I have Your promises which always have been and will forever be, yea and amen to them that believe. Lord, I believe, for You see, Lord, I know whom I have believed. You have kept that which I have committed unto You against that day.

I do not fear my separation from this world, Lord, for the security of my hope rests completely in You. I brought nothing into this world-- it is certain I will carry nothing out. You have given me that which neither rust nor war nor mankind nor death can take from me: Eternal Salvation through You.

And Jesus, I seek not great mansions. You know my heart: I wish to make it to Your feet, for it is there that I can tell You, finally, how much I love and adore You--for the loving compassion You extended through Your mercy toward me, the countless prayers You have answered, the innumerable times You have supplied all my needs, even before I knew there was one!

Oh, the joy of knowing that forever and ever and ever I can tell You that I love You--yet even then it will not be long enough. There is no way to ever thank You for all You have done, Lord, yet how even now I delight to try.

How splendid to know that You live and reign forever and ever! Oh, that Your name forever be exalted above all the earth-- that You be forever lifted up so that mankind may be drawn to you for the salvation of their souls... That they may come to fully know You and all that You have for each of them.
