Oh, it's cold and dark around me, and there is no place to go; Now confusion's took me over and there's no one that I know Who can comfort or console me, who can calm my frightened soul... No one stoops to ease my heartache as life takes its weary toll.
Those once close are now too busy, daily problems all their own. They can't take on extra burdens--in this darkness I'm alone. In this void of pain and sorrow, hurt and wounded here I stray With no hope of a tomorrow, with no signs to show the way.
Knowing fully there's no answer to redeem the end I face; No one offers to here join me, I have fallen far from grace. Falling, crawling, groping blindly, yet not gaining any ground-- Grieved so deeply by my losses, no relief can here be found.
All my hurt and pain and anger dash like breakers deep within. I am shattered, I am broken, I am helpless, I can't win. On my knees I voice my heartbreak, crying loudly my despair: "Is there anyone to help me, is there anyone out there?" |

Wait! There, right there... I see a glimmer........ There's a light that starts to glow; I begin to see more clearly, someone heard my cry I know. It is Jesus! He was waiting patiently close by my side-- Indeed He knew I could not make it on my own for I had tried.
With His arms so close about me, I surrender heart and soul; For my sins I am so sorry--my heart, once broken, is now whole. All the pieces sin had shattered fit together once again; Jesus gave me endless hope to replace my hopeless end.
Come to Jesus, He is waiting, He will save your soul from sin. Stop your searching, He is near you. He will give you peace within. He will give you love and comfort--burdens, heartache take away; He will ne'er leave nor forsake you, He will walk with you each day.
